FITNESS TESTING

I have begun the President’s Challenge fitness testing program. For those who are not familiar with this program, this is a series of 6 different fitness tests: sit-ups, pull ups, flexibility, shuttle run, distance run (either 400m, 800m, or 1 mile - depending on the student’s grade), and a flexed arm hang. All tests scores are assessed based on national standards and depending on the results of the tests, students can earn either a Presidential fitness award or a National fitness award. I also offer 2 other awards based on the fitness tests. They are the All-But-One Club and the 60 Second Club.

The All-But-One Club is for the student who tests scores are all in the National or Presidential levels, except for 1.

The 60 Second Club is for students who can hold a flexed arm hang for 60 seconds or more. Many students are able to hang for over a minute and I believe that deserves recognition.
