HIGH JUMP PRACTICES

For those students who would like extra high jump practice, we will be having 3 drop-in high jump practices in May.  Those practices start at 8:00 am and will run until the start of school.  The dates of the drop-in practices for high jump are:  May 11, May 18 and May 25.

MPS CITY-WIDE TRACK MEET

This year's city-wide track meet will be Wednesday, June 1st at the Midland High School track.  This date has been changed.  It is not going to be held on Tuesday, May 31st as was originally announced.
The city-wide track meet is open to all 4th and 5th graders in the Midland Public School district and those students in the parochial schools who are taught by Midland Public School physical education teachers.
More information regarding track practices and events will be coming.

MIGHTY MUSCLES

We will be having the Mighty Muscles Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May on the playground from 8:20 until the start of school.  Students interested in earning m&m’s can meet me on the playground at the pull up bars.  Mighty Muscles starts May 3rd and the last day will be May 26th.  If it is raining at 8:20, Mighty Muscles will be cancelled.

CITY-WIDE PADDLETON RESULTS

Congratulations to all of the Woodcrest students who participated in the 2011 City-Wide Paddleton tournament!  We had many students make it to the bracket championships this year. Way to go!

DROP-IN VOLLEYBALL AND FLOOR HOCKEY

I will be having drop-in volleyball and floor hockey before school in March and April. The gymnasium will be open at 7:30 a. m. for 4th and 5th grade students interested in either volleyball or floor hockey or both. Students interested in participating are to report directly to the gym and stay in the gym until 8:40 a.m. A signed parent permission slip is required for each student interested in participating in either drop-in sport.

The 2011 Paddleton season is upon us. This year's city-wide Paddleton tournament will be held Saturday, March 5th. The 4th graders will play at Midland High School and the 5th graders will play at Dow High School. The city-wide tournament starts promptly at 9:00.

In preparation for the city-wide tournament, we will be having our own Woodcrest tournament after school.

The 5th grade girls tournament will be Monday, Feb. 28th.

The 4th grade girls tournament will be Tuesday, Mar. 1st.

The 5th grade boys tournament will be Wednesday, Mar. 2nd.

The 4th grade girls tournament will be Thursday, Mar. 3rd.


We will also have drop-in Paddleton before school.
